For the discussion of alfa romeo cars

alfa romeo SZ air con

I have one of the 1000 of these ever made. My question is can I run it
without the belt that drives the aircon unit. It doesnt drive anything
else and I need to get the car home

    Replied to your email.

AFAIK the belt running the aircon also runs the alternator and water
pump (Certainly does in the 164 V6), so you’re a bit buggered.

I checked the parts CD, and indeed the SZ has 3 different belts to drive
those auxiliary stuff around the engine.

Yes Richard, you can safely drive your SZ home without the _aircon_
belt. The alternator/waterpump belt is however crucial.
