Has anyone got a good exploded view of the rear brakes for an alfa ’84 Alfa
gtv 2.0?  Either a link, photo or pdf would be great.

There was an Afla on the series preview clips of the new season of Top Gear
in the UK 2 nite

Only showed the front, It was Silver and I am assuming it will be the Brera
or the 159 – anyone know more?

However, before buying an Alfa 156 I went on confused.com and decided
insurance would be about 500 quid per year.
Now I have the reg number it is coming out at 1100 quid, is it because this
is a Veloce model? Are they that much more expensive to insure?

Picked up my 2.0 TS 156 today and can barely stop grinning.

It does everything I want it to do and looks reasonably grown up, well at
least till I put a big boot spoiler on it.

I would recommend one to anybody.

Hi all,

I bought a fantastic used 2.0 GTV about 6 weeks ago with 65k on the
clock. Then, the huge smile that I’d been carrying aorund for the past
few weeks was promptly wiped from my face when a conn rod failed and
ended up destroying the engine block

I’ve found a recon engine, £1200 fully fitted.

My question is, is it worth it? Is this just another unreliable Alfa
story that I keep hearing and am I going to have something else happen
in a few thousand miles?

And, if I do have a new engine put in will it add any notable value to
the car?

I only paid £3k for the car in the first place, but I do truly love
driving it however the continuous ramblings of my wife and friends
telling me to buy something sensible like a Ford are beginning to take
there toll.

So, can anyone give me some reassurance that replacing the engine is a
sensible option

OK, my mileage has dropped massively and a JTD is no longer cost
effective for me.  Thinking of getting a 156 2.0 JTS, but I’m a bit
confused about the trim levels.

What’s the difference between Veloce 1 & 2 ?  Also is it only the
Veloces that have the side skirts ?  Which ones have the wooden
steering wheel ?

Performance wise, how would a 2.0 JTS compare to say a Vag 1.8 20vt in
a Leon/Octavia ?
