Alfa in NZ

Any kiwis on here?

I’m moving out to Auckland next month, and am debating if I should take my
156 out with me.

I have concerns about how easy / cheap it’s going to be to get spare parts.
It’s bad enough in the UK when they have to order parts from Milan.

Thanks

Goodbye

Hello all,

although I haven’t been active on this group for some time, I am now
leaving the Alfa Romeo brotherhood.

Tomorrow I will return my chiptuned 2001 156 SP1 1.9 JTD to the lease
company after having driven it with much fun for the last 180.000 km.

I will at the same time take delivery of my new car, which is not an
Alfa. I have had 2 156s up to now, and the recent makeover hasn’t done
it much good, IMHO. The GT is too hard for my soft little butt, and the
147 too small, while the 166 is way too expensive. Alfa was a little
too late with the new 159, so I had to take my merchandise to the next
dealership.

But do not dispair, I will only have to travel some 150.000 km in my
new Swedish vehicle until I can return once more to the joys of
Alfa-drivership. For now, this means goodbye, however.

Happy driving, and hope to see all of you back in 3 years.

connecting a mini ipod to a 147??

Evening all.
Anyone here connected a mini ipod succesfully to a 147 ??

It is a 2001 lusso if it makes the slightest bit of difference, standard
stereo, (I think it’s a blaupunkt??)

If you have connected one, can you tell me if you can change between
tracks with the controls on the steering wheel?!
thanks.

Alfa flip key – opening & key blade removal

Hi all,

I want to open up one of my alfa flip keys to remove the key blade and
put into a spare flip key I have acquired as a replacement.

I’ve removed the battery and battery compartment, and removed the screw
which is under the enamel alfa badge, but there doesn’t seem to be a
way to separate the two halves of the key.  I’ve tried carefully
prising the two parts, but they won’t open wide enough to allow the
flip key mechanism out, without (I suspect!) snapping.

I realise that I will need to get the new key reprogrammed with my
code, if I manage to swop the blade over, but that must be better than
the £51+VAT quoted for a new key from the dealer!

Thanks all, any help would be much appreciated.
