Sportiva

Hi all

How many 2000 Sportivas were made in all? Seems to me like  there were at
least 2.

Thanks

Ciao

Goodwood Festival of Speed Tickets

Hi All,

I entered the Alfaromeo.co.uk competition for a pair of tickets to the
Saturday for this weekend’s GFOS event and was lucky enough to be one of the
winners.

Section of e-mail from Alfa:

" Thank you for visiting www.alfaromeo.co.uk and entering our
Internet Goodwood 2003 ‘Festival of Speed’ Prize Draw.

We are pleased to advise you that you are one of the winners
of our Internet Goodwood 2003 ‘Festival of Speed’ Prize Draw –
congratulations!

Please take the opportunity to visit us at the Festival – you will find us
at stand 208. Once there you’ll be privileged to view the stunning new Alfa
156 re-styled by Giugiaro and the face-lifted Alfa Spider/GTV with new 2.0
JTS and 3.2 litre V6 engines, all making their first public appearances in
the UK .  On top of this you will see a plethora of historic Alfa’s both on
the track and in the Concourse d’Elegance."

Now the bad news….. I can’t make it this weekend. I live in Glasgow so it
was already a bit of a journey but had the wife set up for some shopping in
London as her pay off for coming with me. Now she has to work and if I go on
my own, I may as well stay as I sure won’t be getting back in the house on
my return.

So, I am offering them for the price I paid, I.e. Gratis, to fellow Alfa
Drivers. I am a regular on the forum @ www.alfa156.net, but none of the guys
can make it either. I usually sniff about this forum and extend the offer to
any of you guys, probably Catman and Steve H would be the most deserving as
you guys have the passion big time.

Anyway, serious offer, anyone that can make it, drop me an e-mail with your
address and I’ll pop them in the post.

Cheers

Stuart

Dead 166 console display (again)

Display went off after going over a bump. It was previously suggested that
may just be bad connection, so spent a couple of hours trying to get behind
it to check. Removed side panels on both sides, which didn’t help, but
couldn’t get the front panel off. Any pointers please?

The only consolation was that the auto electrician whom we had to look at it
couldn’t get at it either. Our local Alfa dealer has allocated us a
appointment 3 weeks hence (worse than trying to see the doc).

TIA

Peter

Schumacher to drive 156 GTA!

shame alfa’s arn’t doing as well in the BTCC!

SOURCE:WWW.FIATOURINGCARS.COM

Reigning Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher will drive the 2002
FIA European Touring Car Championship winning car, the Autodelta Alfa
Romeo 156 Gta, on Thursday at Mugello. Schumacher will test his F1
Ferrari at the racetrack in Tuscany, and he will also complete a number
of laps at the wheel of the Alfa Romeo, as the Autodelta team will be
sharing the circuit with Ferrari.

Current FIA ETCC point leader Gabriele Tarquini will introduce the
German ace to the secrets of the 156 GTA. It will be a top level meeting
between two all-winners in their respective motorsport categories.
Michael Schumacher is the most winning driver ever in Formula 1 history,
having won five World Championships and 57 grands prix.

The Alfa Romeo 156 emerged as the most winning machine in the latest
Touring Car seasons; since its 1998 debut, the Italian saloon claimed
five major championships, including the 2001 FIA ESTC and the 2002 FIA
ETCC. Both, Schumacher and Alfa Romeo are currently leading their
respective championships.

Autodelta will continue testing on the following day, with Tarquini and
newcomer Sebastian Stahl. The young German driver, who is Schumacher’s
step brother, is expected to drive a fourth works 156 Gta on the FIA
ETCC eighth meeting in Oschersleben, on September 21.

New Alfetta GTV wheels.

I wish I could get these for my Sprint, but I can’t afford them.  I’ve seen
them on Sprints, and they look cool.

Urgent!

Anyone know the cab-belt change interval on a 2lt 155TS 16v?

Going to look at one soon – showing 101k miles, belt changed at 60-65k
miles…..

Is it due one ASAP (can’t have it done for a few weeks), or is it next
due on 120k or 140k miles?

Cheers,
