At the weekend I had the pleasure of changing a headlight bulb for the 1st
time on my yr.2000 156 TS . After some swearing, 2 finger nails and a few
grazed knuckles I did succeed. They certainly don’t make it easy though and
that was the off-side. The near-side one looks even harder to get at and
see. Any tips or tricks ??
I suppose having done it once, it won’t seem so difficult next time.

I take it you haven’t had the `pleasure’ of changing the parking bulb yet?
Makes changing the headlight bulb seem easy!

Headlight bulb ? That’s nothing !
If someone can prove to me that it’s possible to change a front indicator
bulb (near or off-side) on a 156 without removing large amounts of light
assembly / bits of engine / assorted bodywork, I’ll buy them 24 bottles of
Peroni Nastro Azzurro.
Dave S… (no, I haven’t managed it either)..

I’m glad it’s not just me. Makes me feel better.

The rear lights are a piece of cake though just to make up for it.

Bugger – I’ve just got a blown bulb now as well…nearside, would you
believe…

Replaced an indicator bulb earlier this year and don’t remember it being a
big issue …. can’t for the life of me remember how I did it though. I do
remember the reason: the orange tint had flaked and I had a white indicator!
Parking lights: again relatively easy – fiddly yes, but no big deal.
Headlights: wouldn’t know – never had a bulb blow in 7 years of owning the
car!! (Touching wood as I type!!)
