156 Brake/Clutch fluid reservoir.

My clutch is currently dysfunctional due to a leak from the slave cylinder seal
(in)conveniently located in the gearbox, what confuses me is that the brakes
still work fine, even though both systems run from the same reservoir.

Brake pedal has plenty of pressure, but the clutch pedal goes to the floor and
stays there. What sorcery is this?

Never saw the set up on this model, but my porsche 944 had a clutch that
would only suck from the top half of the resevoir, leaving the bottom for
the brakes, in case naything happened to the clutch.

You have already identified the problem. The reservoir is just that … it
feeds the clutch master cylinder which is located under the dash and this
feeds the slave in the gearbox housing.

You won’t notice a difference in the brakes unless you drain the reservoir
    and air gets in.

When you get the slave changed, bleed the brakes as well as the fluid is
probably old and could do with a refresh. (Should be done every two years
    anyway).

Your subject line reminds me that a sign saying "Brake and Clutch Parts"
is an advertisement, not a command…

Seems to be the same for me, fluid drops halfway between the min and max level
    and stays there.
